When tattoo artist Paula Lopez found herself stuck at home during the COVID-19 pandemic, she started baking cookies. And then she baked some more. With her tattoo parlor closed for months, she became obsessed with improving her technique and flavor combinations, and Secret Squirrel Cookies was born.
Since ingredients were scarce during quarantine, Paula sold a limited number of orders based on what she could find. Today, she bakes at Garden State Kitchen, and even though supply is better, she still sells via preorder to avoid waste and ensure fresh-baked goodness.
Each weekly cookie drop features a selection of seriously loaded XL cookies in unique flavor combos like Cinna-Bun, Holy Cannoli, Chocolate Peanut Butter Oreo Crush, or Red Velvet Stuffed with Cookies and Cream Cheese Frosting. A few are even gluten-free.
Follow Secret Squirrel to get in on the next cookie drop – and follow us to learn about more small food businesses and professional cooking spaces. Better yet, come see the kitchen.
